First, in any emergency or survival situation, it is important to stay calm and not panic. Further, the most crucial survival skills are faith in God and the WILLPOWER to succeed over the circumstances.

How to Break into a Car with a Hanger
If you've locked yourself out of your car or, God forbid, locked a kid in the car, you may need to break into your car with a wire hanger.
Most cars over 10 years old have rods set vertically in the door. Most cars under 10 years old have rods set horizontally in the door. Horizontal locking mechanisms are harder to open, but possible.
Bend the hanger into a long J. Square off the bottom of the J 1-1/2 to 2".
Slide the hanger into the door between the weather stripping and the glass. Open the door by feel and trial and error. Feel for the end of the button rod, and when you find it, pull it up or to the side to unlock the door.
If someone (a child) is trapped inside and you can't open the door quickly, it may be best to break a window away from the person and get them out.

====================================================================
How to Break Down a Door:
If you ever need to break into or out of a locked room follow these guidelines:
1- Kick the door strongly at the point where the lock is mounted. It may take several kicks.
2- If it is an interior door, you might be able to insert a small screwdriver or sharp object into the small hole on your side of the lockset, if available, and turn to open.
3- You may be able to pry the door open by using a pry bar or crow bar. Insert the tool between the lock and the door and force it open. This is most effective when the door opens towards you.
4- Also, if the door opens towards you, you can remove the door from its hinges by knocking out the bolt holding the hinges together. You will need a hammer and a screwdriver or awl. Place the screwdriver or awl under the bolt and use the hammer to knock it out.

How to Escape from Quicksand
First, in any emergency or survival situation, it is important to stay calm and not panic. Further, the most crucial survival skill is the WILLPOWER to succeed over the circumstances.
====================================================================
How to Escape from Quicksand:
1- If you are in quicksand country, carry a stout pole to facilitate getting out of quicksand if you need to.
2- As soon as you start to sink, lay the pole on the surface of the quicksand.
3- Flop onto your back on top of the pole.
4- Work the pole under your hips at a right angle to your spine. This will keep your hips from sinking as you pull one leg out at a time.
5- Moving slowly, take the shortest route to firmer ground.
====================================================================
How to Avoid Sinking:
It is important to move slowly in quicksand. The faster your movements, the quicker you sink.
It is easy to float in quicksand. Get on your back and extend your arms and legs adding buoyancy.
